I recommend you see it in the theater. I’ve seen less than five decent-to-great new releases in 2008 and this is one of them.
It’s no more of a documentary than a recent years Michael Moore film, but it’s well made and entertaining. Comedy comes from more than just the mean spirited jabs Maher takes on his line up of religious figures. The laughs are most often delivered in the edit - juxtaposing or complimenting interview footage with quick clips of pop culture film and video. The movie flies bye at one hour and forty minutes.
